So… we’re all kind of hearing that the third season of Sherlock will be the last, right? Bull crap. And I have reasons for this.
Reason number one: I don’t want it to happen, so it won’t. [This is my most powerful fangirl reason.]
Reason number two: This quote —> “Now [Cumberbatch] can keep the
Sherlock writers on their toes, he claims mischievously. ‘I need to have
some more talks with them and tease them about the fact that I do have a
career outside of Sherlock now, so they’d better write something.’”
He’s obviously joking. People aren’t thinking again. “Think. It’s the
new sexy.” -.-
Reason number three: I’ve watched and read multiple interviews with
Steven Moffat where he says that they’re looking forward to exploring
the stories further. He’s always going on about how there are so many
Sherlock Holmes stories and they’ve only touched a few of them. Not only
that, but he expresses a desire to develop the characters to the point
where most other adaptations come in (that is, middle age), saying that
because they started the show at the very beginning, when Holmes met
Watson, they’ve still got a lot of material to cover. [None of that is
verbatim, of course, and I can’t find any of the interviews at the
moment but if you run across them, can you send me the links, please?
Thank you.]
Reason number four: There are only three episodes (that’s 4 and a
half hours) every two years. If the filming for that can’t be fit into
an actor’s schedule, he needs a new person to do his planning for him.
It’s not like it’s a sitcom or a regular show with regular seasons and a
regular amount of episodes.
So, until Gatiss and Moffat make an announcement that season three
will be the last, I refuse to believe any hype or rumors. I just can’t
get worked up over something that isn’t confirmed. Granted, while the
word Bow kind of indicates that maybe, just maaaaaaaybe, we’re hitting
the end, I also know that the creators love to tweak things and use
multiple cases in one episode and put them most definitely out of order.
I’m thinking here of The Blind Banker, which uses elements from at
least three different cases from different points of the Holmes
timeline: The Valley of Fear, The Sign of the Four, and The Adventure of
the Dancing Men. (See this website: http://www.sherlockpeoria.net/Who_is_Sherlock/SherlockTimeline.html)
I think it’s cuz it keeps us as fans on our toes and in suspense. Also,
they’ve taken such care with slowly developing the characters that I
don’t think they’ll just rush them into retirement immediately (and
let’s face it, if Bow is the last episode ever, and they stick to canon
there, that would make Sherlock old), even if the actors are busy. It
wouldn’t do the series justice and I know that both Gatiss and Moffat
are huge nerds about Sherlock Holmes and want to give it as much honor
as they can.
Yeah…… sorry for the rant. I just get frustrated when people believe
(and panic over) everything they read on the internet without actually
thinking about it. It’s a rumor. Keep calm.

You know what really sucks?
I'm 21 years old and I already take 8 medications daily plus an inhaler when I need it. I really got the raw end of the gene pool. Of those eight medications, 7 are pills and one is a nasal spray. The nasal spray and two of the pills are for combination hereditary allergies/asthma (as is the inhaler, but we're not counting that). One pill is a daily vitamin. One is a calcium supplement. Two of the pills are for a stupid feminine problem called endometriosis. The last pill is for hereditary depression/anxiety.
And to top it all off, every year around autumn/winter, without fail, I have to take an antibiotic because, as I hope you've figured out, my respiratory system is evil. It seems to take Sherlock's view of breathing. "Oh, breathing. Breathing's boring." -.-
So just remember that when you get sick, it could always be worse. You could be living in a perpetual state of illness that's only held at bay by swallowing what virtually amounts to a meal of medicine every day.

Tattered
My great-aunt, Auntie Mickey, passed away this morning. I know most
people aren’t close to their great-aunts, but I was to her. She was more
of a mother to my mom than my grandmother was and more of a grandma to
me than either of my own. I was named after her. Her real name was Marie
and that’s my middle name. My oldest nephew was born on her birthday.
My second youngest niece was also born on her birthday and was given the
middle name Marie. They’re both my godchildren. She used to make this
fantastic bean dish called Calico Beans. I need to learn how to make it.
We used to take day trips up to her farm. We’d pick up some fried
chicken on the way and spend the afternoon with her and my great-uncle,
where she’d reminisce about what life was like when she was younger and
tell stories about my mom, my siblings, and I. My Auntie Mickey was so
woven into the fabric of my life that her passing has left a tattered
hole. I miss her so much and because I live over 20 hours away from my
hometown, I can’t go to the funeral. I don’t know what to do with
myself. Please keep my family, especially my mom, who is feeling like
her mother has passed away, in your prayers.
